The birth of the Lige sports watch
When you buy a paddle board from Lige, we donate a portion of your order to one of several charities that support our oceans, reefs and endangered marine life. It feels good to know that you are helping create a better planet and getting amazing products. With every purchase of this board, we donate to charities that support our endangered sea turtle species. We are also working on cleaning up local beaches and reefs and are always looking for new charities to work with. We're doing everything we can to minimise our environmental impact - even our packaging is made from recycled materials. Will you stand with us?
I have always loved water since I was a child. My love for water rekindled when I traveled to the Maldives. During my stay in Maldives, I learned to dive and surf. Since then, I have returned and lived in the Maldives regularly for almost two years. Maldives is rich in marine resources, with a variety of tropical fish and marine products such as turtles, tortoises, corals, shells, etc. Maldives is a typical representative of island vacations, very suitable for emptying your mood, suitable for family travel/honeymoon/vacation in a beautiful appearance The next also takes note of the damage we're causing to the world's oceans: we're endangering many aquatic species, destroying countless coral reefs, and littering our beaches. So sad - I saw what I thought was a jellyfish while surfing, but it was just a plastic bag. When I'm lucky enough to scuba dive, we often pass miles of dead reef on our way to the dive site.
I had to do something, and I wanted something bigger than myself, something that lasted longer than me. Something that has a positive impact on the planet.
I started Lige Watch for two reasons:
1. Help save the world's oceans and marine life in a sustainable manner.
2. To design and manufacture as extraordinary a watch as possible.
While traveling, I discovered a product that stood out: a sports watch. That was my "aha" moment - what if I could sell a smartwatch while helping our oceans? That's how the Lige Watch was born.
We make high quality watches and sell them directly to you - cutting out the middleman. We sell our products at the same price as the retail price (sometimes even lower). We adopted a bold design style to apply the traditional mechanical watch metal strap and case to the smart watch. The product has been released and has received enthusiastic response in the market, and it has been sold out several times. When you buy a Lige Watch, a portion of that watch sale goes directly to saving our world's oceans and marine life.
How does the Lige Ocean Initiative work?
You can help by simply buying any watch from Lige! You don't need anything else to support any of our missions and charities. You don't need extra money or effort. If you want to do more, you can donate your time or money directly to charity!
At the end of each season, we add up all the watches sold. Based on this number, we split and distribute funds to several different marine charities. We also donate extra time and money to organize beach cleanups and resources to charitable organizations that serve our world's oceans and lakes.
